Has Anyone Tried Talkee?

I'm wondering if anyone's tried the service at
http://www.talkee.com
If so, what is it like? What kinds of people hang out there? Does it really matter which line you call if you're calling a national line? Also, I tried to make an online profile at
http://www.talkeepeople.com
but found the last step was inaccessible. Does anyone have a work-around? If this isn't a good service, then could you recommend another phone social networking place I can try? Keep in mind I'm seeking friends only and am not looking for a date. Thanks.

Why? What are they like? I went on for a few minutes and just saw a bunch of garbage. Half the people sounded like they belonged on Jerry Springer or something, judging by the way they spoke. lol But I figured it was just the line I called. Is there another service that's actually decent?

Exactly what is so bad about this system that has made2 different people advise everyone to stay away?
I'm not saying your wrong or anything, as I said, i'm just interested.
